What I Plan To Do The Next Three Months
An overview of what I’ve studied the previous week, projects in the works, and plans for the final quarter.
We are in the final stretch of the year. The last three months are to set yourself up for success in 2026. This could be going all in on a business idea, brainstorming content, or starting a new career. To me, the final three months are the most important. The moment when productivity and creativity meet in the middle to create something meaningful.
During the last quarter, I’ll be focusing on two business ventures, launching my career in writing, and learning to the fullest extent. As a chronic planner with a need for control, I’ve planned steps and milestones in my writing career and broken up the fourth quarter into 3 milestones for business. Later today, I’ll be brainstorming potential posts for the month of October.
The following three months I will be a very buzzy bee (see what I did there?) Will this hinder my time to write? Potentially. When I find a system to manage all my businesses, projects, and hobbies, it’s smooth sailing from there. But let’s end this tangent and get into what I’ve been up to this week.

What I’ve Studied
Given how busy I was last week with thinking, writing, and planning, I haven’t had much time for my studies. But what I did learn is going to help me in the next three months. Starting off with storytelling, I finished learning about the three-act structure often used in books, screenwriting, movies, etc. This is a major step and milestone towards the progress of one of my projects. I was really happy to finish this class. Now I’m equipped with the basic tools for telling stories that could be useful for a multitude of things.
The next class that I focused on was Classic Literature. I had a goal to finish Pride & Prejudice by the end of the month, but that wasn’t realistic. I’m a slow reader who enjoys annotating her books. So, I’ll be giving myself an extension for completing the novel. I’ve taken notes on writing literary analysis for future book reviews and general discussions. And I’m working through watching a course on SkillShare by Roxane Gay. She shares how to write, edit, and publish personal essays with impact.
The next couple of months, I’m really excited to dive deep into my projects in writing. As well as my photography project! I wasn’t able to focus on that course this month. I didn’t have the camera that I wanted to use for hands-on learning. My phone is a good substitute, but I’d prefer not to rely on it. I want to buy a Canon AE1 35mm Film Camera or a Canon EOS Rebel. Both are pretty pricy. With enough hard work and dedication, I’ll be getting them soon. So, photography with be one of the classes I’ll be completing during October.
What I’ve Worked On
As mentioned before, I’ve been working on a couple of my writing projects. This first project is intended to be a compilation of 2-3 short stories. I’m working with the idea of building one world and telling the stories of different characters. They don’t know each other, of course, which I think will be interesting to not only write, but also read. You think the stories are connected, but they aren’t. They all just live in the same world.
The first short story follows a young elf with a toxic family dynamic and a love for nature, magic, and plants. He’s a shop owner and an expert in herbal remedies and perfumery. Of course, his decision doesn’t align with his father's wishes, but that’s the fun of it. A story isn’t a story if there is no conflict between characters and the plot. I might introduce him to you in a later post.
The second writing project I’ve been working on is the rough plot for my novel. I believe I’ve mentioned Project Afterlife in previous recaps. If not, now you know! I’ve wanted to write books since I graduated high school in the summer of 2020. Do I know what I’m doing? Absolutely not. But learning how to create interesting characters and write a good plot has been really fun.
And I prefer to learn the intricacies along the way. Analysis paralysis is a terrible feeling for neurodivergent people. And it’s something that we struggle with more often than neurotypical people. From what I’ve noticed at least. My conviction could very well be wrong, but it’s a hill I’ll die on. But aside from those two projects, I haven’t really worked on any others.
The coming months will be interesting to say the least. Building businesses, launching my career, and writing a lot. There will be lots of planning and decision-making, but I am going to continue writing and learning. Those are my hobbies for the season to avoid seasonal depression. Adding photography is another hobby I hope to add to my rotation. With everything going on in the media and the propaganda being shoved down our throats, having hobbies to stay grounded is going to help us creatively immensely.
A final note I’d like to leave you with is this: Art is Activism. Art is rebellion. Creativity is the power to enact the changes we want to see. Activism isn’t only storming the streets with posters and chants, or the ringing of church bells. Activism is also daring to create when the world is on fire. Creativity is the doorway to happiness and the cure to pain. So please, continue creating art. Continue writing. That is your power that the government and media can’t shun, silence, or censor.
